Located in Anjou, the Baugé 49 - Maine-et-Loire Golfstars golf course is an 18-hole Par 72 course of 5947 meters, hilly and technical. Built in the forests of the Bauge country between Saumur and Angers, the golf course has been open since 1995. Its route invites beautiful golf walks, but attracts all the strokes of golf thanks to the many natural obstacles.

The French architect Alain Prat has been able to highlight this green setting on the 180 hectares of the estate. It is not uncommon to see a deer cross at hole 2 while the start of the 13th offers a breathtaking view. Watch out for hole 16, a small Par 4 of 294 meters that reveals difficulties, even to experienced players.

This golf course, open all year round, changed ownership in 2017 and major work has been undertaken to accommodate golfers with new services and facilities, as well as the rehabilitation of the historic entrance building.

The practice offers 50 positions including 10 covered, as well as a putting green and a 3-hole school course. Group and individual courses are given throughout the year, as well as internships.

An old 18th century farmhouse houses the clubhouse. The pro-shop is important and has PMR access. It offers a non-stop bar in season. The restaurant Les Saveurs de Borde welcomes guests every lunchtime with a close on December 25 and January 1. The terrace is to be preferred at the end of your route when the scorecard is filled and with pleasure or regret, you narrate your exploits or disappointments with your friends. The calm of the Chandelais forest is a reminder that the magical moments are to be savoured like the lamps of an old whisky.

    I was a member here for 18 years until 2021.
    The course is one of the most challenging and enjoyable in the area and the club most welcoming.
    Most holes have an ele ment of risk and reward and although not long requires thought on shot choice.
    Best holes - 3 (needs a good tee shot) 6(superb par 5) and thre Amen corner of 13,14,15.
    Green keeping superb.
    Catering limited to lunch with short hours.
