The Golf Isle d'Or, 3rd GolfStars, is located on one of the Loire Islands in the commune of Cellier, in Varenne (49), Maine and Loire, 30 minutes from Nantes, on an 80-hectare estate.
Created in 1988 by architect Michel Gayon, it is accessible by a small wooden bridge that leads to 2 courses, an 18-hole Par 72 of 6292 meters and a 9-hole Par 27 of 1217 meters. They are built on sandy ground, which allows them to be playable all year round.
The 18 holes offer a wide variety of difficulties. The Loire is very present, as are the trees. And when the wind gets in the way, the scores are affected. The 9 holes allows you to progress using all clubs and experienced players to work on precision thanks to high quality greens. Dogs are allowed on the course and it is possible to book online.
Renovated in 2013, the practice is 12 stations on soft carpets including 5 cutlery and an area on grass. Training is offered according to the levels of the players. Competitions are held regularly. The Sports Association is very present and supports its young players who won the InterClub Youth Challenge of the Loire Country Golf League in 2019 for the 3rd consecutive year.
Offered in a former barn, the clubhouse is friendly and has access to People with Reduced Mobility. Wi-Fi is available. The proshop has a wide range of equipment, with club rentals.
The restaurant is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It offers superb views of the Loire and hillsides. Nestled close to the golf course, the property offers all nature lovers a green and soothing break.
