The Villarceaux Golf Club is a 3-star golf course in the 18-hole category, located 60 km north of Paris. It was inaugurated by Jean Garaïalde in 1971 in a particularly well-preserved environment, surrounding the Château du Couvent and nestled in the tranquility of the Vexin Natural Regional Park.
This rather technical course is a par 72, stretching 6,115 meters, and has been open since 1972 in the commune of Chaussy (95 - Val-d'Oise). Its slightly undulating and highly varied layout features wide fairways and large greens. The course boasts two signature holes: No. 8 (Le Belvédère) and No. 9 (Les Étangs de Ninon), which offers a stunning view of the Château du Couvent. From the green of hole 4, you'll be enchanted by the breathtaking view of the Villarceaux estate, no matter the season.
In autumn, the course transforms into a splendid, fiery red landscape, revealing all its charming facets.
The clubhouse is housed in a former convent.
Message from the Golf Course:
In the early 1970s, the owner of the Villarceaux Estate, Count de Villefranche, launched an ambitious project: three golf courses, tennis courts, and an equestrian club, complemented by a residential real estate concept in the unused spaces.
At the foot of the châteaux, an economic, financial, legal, and tax structure aimed to create a leisure destination that could compete with major clubs in the Paris region. However, the project faced significant setbacks. By the spring of 1971, only eighteen holes were completed, and no residential buildings were ever constructed as the site became a protected area.
The course, designed by English architect Mr. Baker, honors the natural landscape and its contours. No significant earthworks were undertaken, and no trees were harmed during construction. It was inaugurated by Jean Garaïalde and Jean Palli during a partnership event in 1971 and has been affiliated with the French Golf Federation (FFG) since 1972.
Until 1983, course maintenance remained basic. That year, a new team implemented the current associative framework and set the direction that continues to this day:
A members' golf club with a strong focus on sports activities,
Facilities supporting youth engagement through a dynamic golf school.
A deep respect for the environment contributes to making Villarceaux one of the most beautiful and appealing courses in the Île-de-France region.
