The Governor's Golf, Golfstars, is a 36-hole golf course, located north of Lyon, in Monthieux - 01 in the heart of the Governor's Estate in 330 hectares of a historic site. The Estate is home to the Château du Breuil, which has long hosted the governors of the Dombe.
The Governor's Golf has 3 courses, two 18 holes including a 9-hole practice. The two 18 holes are the Le Breuil course which is a Par 72 of 5973 meters, and the Montaplan, a Par 71 of 5817 meters. Between woods and ponds, forests and valleys, these 45 holes are intended for all types of players, from beginner to confirmed, but the two 18 holes require tactics and mastery.
Regularly mentioned in the golf rankings, the Breuil course is a national reference. The long hitters find their happiness in the wide fairways, but watch out for hole 15 where it seems that there is more water than dirt... The Montaplan is no exception. The first 9 holes are located in the heart of a forest. From hole 11 to hole 15, there is no shortage of water obstacles. Its greens are protected by well-placed bunkers.
The training area is of high quality with a water practice and sheltered carpets, as well as large grass platforms. There is also a green of approaches, a large putting green and 2 real training holes with a Par 4 and a Par 3, but reserved primarily for teaching.
Between the Bresse and Beaujolais, regions rocked by gastronomy and viticulture, the Governor's Golf, within the Domain, is an aubade to live well and to sport. For in this atypical and luxurious place, there is a beautiful hotel and a renowned table, the Governor's Table. With a little luck, you'll see him hit the ball or slash the champagne on the restaurant terrace, set on the edges of an inner courtyard of the castle. And if you feel like it, there's only one step to take to join the putting green that stretches your arms, with its flowery well and birdie promises.
