At the outskirts of Lille, Merignies Golf Country Club, awarded 4 stars by Golfstars, boasts the most undulating course in the Flat Country with its 1.5 million cubic meters of earth fill. It's currently a 27-hole course and will eventually expand to 36 holes. Its two main courses, La Valutte and Val de Marque, both measure a PAR 70 over 5664 meters. It holds the Silver Label from the French Golf Federation for biodiversity.
The Val de Marque course is quite technical, punctuated by numerous bunkers. The tee shot on the 2nd hole requires a powerful drive to clear the water hazard. The 7th hole, a Par 3, features a generous bunker. The Rupilly course is a Par 37 over 3200 meters, offering exceptional views of a part of the Romanesque Flanders, La Pévèle. Dogs are allowed on the course.
Awarded the Silver Label for Golf and Biodiversity, this golf course is a signatory of the Responsible Sport Charter: it collects rainwater to irrigate its course and does not use any fertilizers or pesticides. Architect Michel Gayon designed it as an artificial links course. Both tee boxes and greens have sandy foundations, allowing for faster drainage of rainwater. The course is entirely supplied by a network of pipes spanning 35 kilometers. Thus, Merignies Golf is renowned for the quality of its course throughout the region, allowing for play on summer greens all year round, except on frosty days.
Spread over 10 hectares, Merignies Golf offers a high-quality driving range, a 500 m2 putting green, an approach zone, and notably, at the clubhouse, a simulator offering 12 of the world's most beautiful courses and an analysis of your swing.
Merignies Golf Club has 2 dining options: a brasserie with a non-stop bar in season and a restaurant, La Canopée, offering regional cuisine with 100% locally sourced products. The view from the clubhouse's upper floor is breathtaking overlooking the course. It's the perfect spot to relive your round with friends.
