2025 STAYSURE MARBELLA LEGENDS KICKS OFF DP WORLD LEGENDS TOUR, ALOHA GC, FEBRUARY 14-16

The 2025 Staysure Marbella Legends – a new challenge on the DP World Legends Tour – launches the Tour’s 2025 season at Marbella’s famed Aloha Golf Club located above the famed “Golf Valley” on  Spain’s renown Costa del Golf. The public are welcome for free to enjoy the many Legends’ stars !

– José María Olazábal, double Augusta Masters champion, 8 Ryder Cups, 23 victories on the European Tour, 6 victories on the PGA Tour, Hall of Fame.

France’s Thomas Levet has a definite advantage, having claimed a sensational victory in 2006 MAPFRE Open de Andalucia by Valle Romano at Aloha GC. Winning in a play-off over Oliver Fisher, Levet  dedicated his victory to Seve Ballesteros gaining many Spanish and Aloha GC fans forever. Always a popular figure Levet is renown too for his broadcast commentaries as well as his DP World Tour and Legends titles.

ALOHA CELEBRATES ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY OPENING ITS DOORS TO STAYSURE MARBELLA LEGENDS

The Staysure Marbella Legends arrives at Aloha Golf Club on a very special date, the 50th anniversary of a club listed among the “Best Golf Courses” that has established itself as one of the best in Spain and, of course, on the Costa del Sol.

This merit is not only from its magnificent design, the work of the prestigious Javier Arana (the last project he signed before his death), but over the years it has been cared for with extreme delicacy with the aim of preserving the essence of the designer.

Since its opening in 1975, the club has carried out important improvements, such as the renovation of the Club House, the modernization of the irrigation system adapting it to current needs, and the recent renovation of the greens in 2023.

Throughout these years it has hosted important Tour tournaments, and some of the players who now play the Legends Tour, came to Aloha in their best years of competition. Precisely Miguel Angel Jimenez, honorary member of Aloha Golf, was the winner of the first professional tournament played in this course, in 1989; it was a mixed tournament in which he won forming a couple with Xonia Wunsch, a successful couple because they both triumphed in the European Tour and the Ladies European Tour respectively.

in 2008, when the Frenchman Thomas Levet won the tournament, who returns to Aloha with great memories; in that edition also participated José María Olazábal, and four years later also won a Frenchman, Julian Quesne, a year in which Jiménez was in 7th position.

Since then, Aloha Golf Club has hosted tournaments of the Ladies European Tour, counting among its winners Azahara Muñoz and Ann Van Damm.

Aloha Golf Club is working hard to prepare the course in the best conditions, and for this the more than 50 employees are working tirelessly with the illusion of receiving the best golfers who have made history in world golf.

Miguel Angel Jimenez has the opportunity this week to achieve the feat of winning the first tournament played in Aloha and the most recent, the Staysure Marbella Legends, with which Aloha completes the cycle of hosting tests of the most prestigious European circuits.
